Our teams ensure that animal onboard accommodation meets IATA Live Animals Regulations, and offers security, sufficient ventilation, space for movement and access to water and food provided by the customer when appropriate.

All acceptance and handling procedures are in full compliance with both IATA and local standards and requirements.

Cathay Cargo can also provide horse stalls and pet kennels on request.

As a network airline, our sales teams can assist with documentation and import/export requirements at both origin and destination, as well as any transhipment documentation and requirements at our Hong Kong hub.

Our professionally trained and experienced staff adopt the highest standards of care for your live animals. We can also accommodate animal attendants or travelling vets and grooms on our freighters upon request.

Our flight crews manage cargo compartment temperatures from the flight deck to ensure comfort, along with sufficient in-flight ventilation.

Cathay Cargo Terminal offers a temperature-controlled animal store room and a large animal handling area. Additionally, there is a horse handling platform for easy transfer between travel stalls and horse boxes for road transit.
