Cathay Cargo is the first carrier in Asia to hold the prestigious IATA CEIV Live Animals accreditation. Our experienced team can handle anything, from day-old chicks to priceless racehorses, livestock to live fish and crustaceans – and even the occasional giant panda – all to the highest animal welfare and transport standards within the industry.

Cathay Cargo and Cathay Cargo Terminal have both attained IATA CEIV Live Animals accreditation.

Our skilled animal transport teams ensure that animal onboard accommodation meets IATA Live Animals Regulations, and offers security, sufficient ventilation, space for movement and access to water and food provided by the customer when appropriate.

All acceptance and handling procedures are in full compliance with both IATA and local standards and animal logistics requirements.

Cathay Cargo can also provide horse stalls and pet kennels on request.

We follow strict live animals logistics handling protocols at Hong Kong International Airport which include slow dolly speeds and last-on, first-off loading to minimise time on the tarmac.

Cathay Cargo Terminal offers a temperature-controlled animal store room and a large animal handling area. Additionally, there is a horse handling platform for easy transfer between travel stalls and horse boxes for road transit.

We also provide a no-hassle, reliable pet travel service to ensure that your pet enjoys a stress-free experience.
