Cathay Cargo’s new fire containment bags for lithium-ion batteries – which enable the carriage of shipments UN3480 PI965 Section 1A and 1B on freighter aircraft – have been very well received by customers.

Contact usThe fire containment bags for lithium-ion batteries come in two sizes, for shipments of up to 30kg and 50kg (pictured) per bag. The 50kg bag is able to hold 900-1000 batteries of the type used in smartphones, for example.
Head of Cargo Market and Products John Cheng said: ‘In light of growing demand for lithium-ion battery shipments, the fire containment bags have proven to be very popular in the market. They are now available from more than 50 Cathay Pacific Group freighter destinations.’
