5 key things about the new and improved Cathay Courier
Cathay Courier brings with it “next flight out” certainty and piece-level tracking, among other class-leading features
22 Jan 2025

Cathay Cargo has refreshed its special shipment solution Cathay Courier. The all-new Cathay Courier has added extra visibility throughout the entire shipment process and is aimed mainly at customers who require high-value shipments expressly delivered, when time is everything.

Here are five things you need to know about Cathay Courier’s refreshed features.

Piece-level visibility

Cathay Courier has adapted Cathay Mail’s technology to now allow customers to track their shipment on a piece-level basis. Rather than tracing the shipment through its air waybill (AWB), which is a number allocated to each cargo shipment, this new application of technology allows customers to access the status of each package through the dedicated Cathay Courier website. Customers who opt to do so can still follow the shipment using the AWB on the Cathay Cargo website as usual.

Extended customer profile

The refreshed Cathay Courier solution is ideal for customers that need to move small, urgent parcels, including high-value e-commerce. Customers include fashion houses dispatching pieces of haute couture to shows and events, and dental companies that need dental molds to be shipped to their clients – and their customers – worldwide and promptly.

Expertise at its heart

Cathay Courier is operated by Cathay Cargo through its exclusive General Sales Agent (GSA) Linex. In territories that Cathay Courier operates, customer documents and cargo are handled by Cathay Courier staff, who will personally take in parcels, escort parcels through dedicated customs lanes, while the new digital process generates data to assist with shipment records and reconciliation.

Fast and flexible

While subject to flight schedule, parcels can often make it within 24-48 hours for long-haul and transit services from or through Hong Kong. This duration decreases to within 24 hours on regional, intra-Asia flights on Cathay Pacific’s and Cathay Cargo’s expansive flight network. Cathay Courier offers “next flight out” certainty and a high “flown as booked” ratio. Bookings for all shipments close just 240 minutes before departure and acceptance is within 90 minutes after touch down.

Door-to-door availability

Cathay Courier’s dedicated GSA Linex, an expert in first and last mile courier solutions, offers several options for collection and delivery of parcels. An efficient ground fleet is in place for flexible collection of parcels direct from the customer’s door and for last-mile delivery to the destination where applicable.
