Cathay Cargo has refreshed its Cathay Fresh specialised shipment solution, drawing on its cold-chain infrastructure, experience and expertise. With added features such as multi-dimensional shipment visibility thanks to Ultra-Track technology, Cathay Cargo aims to serve as the freshest gateway in and out of Asia.

As the demand for quality fresh produce increases over the world, the need for a high-quality, dependable and consistent means of sending these perishables globally is vital for shippers and consignees. Cathay Fresh addresses these needs. It provides express handling with five-hour connectivity within Asia by professionals who understand the cold chain, as well as the specialist care that ensures temperature-sensitive shipments arrive at their very best, be they tropical fruits, seafood chilled meats or flowers.

“With our new and refreshed Cathay Fresh solution, we’ve made further investments into our already extensive cold chain infrastructure,” says Cathay Director Cargo Tom Owen. “This latest solution refresh reflects our focus on building up our higher yield special solution shipments, which is one of our objectives as we seek to become the world’s best air-cargo carrier.”

Cathay Cargo and Cathay Cargo Terminal are the first carrier and cargo terminal to be awarded the IATA CEIV Fresh certification.  As a standard, Cathay Fresh offers prioritised tarmac transfers, and, as an added option, bookable cool dollies at Cathay Cargo’s Hong Kong hub for added reassurance.

Other features of Cathay Fresh include an extensive freighter and passenger fleet and network servicing 200 destinations, with dedicated sales teams booking the optimum flight connections for each shipment, and additional speed available via the Cathay Priority tiers. Cathay Fresh offers additional assurance with next-generation Ultra Track track-and-trace technology. This add-on offers a data-logger that allows Cathay Cargo’s Operations Control Centre to proactively monitor the shipment for potential temperature excursions around the clock.

Siddhant Iyer, Cathay Cargo’s Head of Cargo Global Partnerships, adds: “Cathay Fresh enables consumers around the world to enjoy vegetables, fruits and other temperature-sensitive produce in impeccable condition. It really is the freshest gateway in and out of Asia.”
