Cathay Cargo’s team was recognised by the Nepal Freight Forwarders’ Association for the highest tonnage uplift in 2017.

The Kathmandu Cargo office recorded spectacular double-digit growth in uplift in 2017, and the bulk of export shipments were in the form of carpets, handicrafts, cotton materials – and even dog chews. The majority of shipments were bound for the US and the Chinese mainland via Hong Kong.

Cathay's Nepal Country Lead and Sales & Marketing Manager, Junu Maleku and Assistant Manager Cargo, Yamuna Pradhanang collected the award from Nanda Kishor Pun, Vice-president of Nepal at the ceremony, hosted at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kathmandu.

Junu said: ‘Kudos to our Kathmandu team, who were able to achieve this against some big competitors that operate more frequencies.’

The award was presented at a gala event organised by the Nepal Freight Forwarders’ Association. Junu added: ‘I’m proud of the team and their tremendous efforts and hard work to bring home such a prestigious award.’
