Your requested features in the latest version of Click & Ship
Cathay Cargo’s booking platform is now more intuitive and adds new benefits for users
06 May 2025

Since its introduction in 2021, Cathay Cargo’s Click & Ship booking platform has provided 24/7 convenience to agents, which is essential in a business that doesn’t sleep. Take up has grown steadily and it now accounts for most of Cathay Cargo’s bookings.

Now, the booking platform is going to become more intuitive and easier to use with new pages to help agents keep a closer eye on their shipments’ booking status. Among the new developments are the introduction of dedicated pages that will enable our agents to review all their bookings in one place, as well as drill down into the details of individual bookings.

“We know that Click & Ship – our online booking platform – is valued by our customers, and more and more are using it each month,” says General Manager Cargo Commercial James Evans. “However, we don’t like to sit still and we have big plans to improve the user experience and functionality.  Our latest development provides our customers with booking details and summaries, which have been the most requested changes.  And there’s more to come as we plan to put more control in our customers’ hands when they use Click & Ship.”

These changes in response to user comments captured in surveys, according to Serwing Lo, Cargo Distribution Manager. “This new version addresses the most requested comments from our customers,” she says. “There are still more to be addressed, and some of them will be in future iterations of this digitalised agile development platform.”

Let’s look at the highlights of this iteration of Click & Ship:

1. Multi-channel functionality

No matter how customers book with Cathay Cargo, the innovative new functionality now consolidates all their bookings into one easy-to-view platform. “This ensures a seamless and efficient experience, providing our customers with complete visibility and control over their shipments, regardless of the booking channel used,” says Lo.

2. Extended booking history

The system will now maintain a rolling 12-month calendar of shipment records, starting from 5 March, 2025.

3. Clearer display interface

Agents can now view their Cathay Cargo bookings in a clean and structured format with 20 records per page, reducing clutter and improving navigation.

4. Quick search

Save time with the powerful search function that allows users to enter up to five AWB numbers that can be searched simultaneously.

5. Smart filtering options

Streamline the booking overview with intelligent filtering options. Whether agents prefer to filter by destination, departure date, booking status or flight or vessel number, the system will adapt to users’ preferred structure.

6. Dynamic status updates

Check real-time booking status with instant refreshes to information when agents come back from navigating other pages on the site, all the way up until the shipment is received by Cathay Cargo.

7. Seamless tracking

Agents can flip between booking details and actual shipment tracking with a single click that redirects them to the Cargo.com Track your shipment feature.

These new features in Click & Ship will further boost the user experience, with more new features once more shaped by customer feedback, and the spirit of continuous improvement to follow on.
