Oregon honours Cathay Pacific for Portland freighter link
Award recognises economic contribution of the twice-weekly freighter service

The US state of Oregon has recognised Cathay Cargo for its contribution to international trade, following the launch of its twice-weekly freighter service between Hong Kong and Portland in November 2016. The service enables the export of the region's fresh produce and apparel to all points in Asia.

Cathay Pacific was awarded a 'Celebrate Trade 2017 - Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics Partnership Award' at an event organised by Oregon Consular Corps in Portland on 15 May 2017.

This award recognises the contribution to the general quality of life and economic development of Pacific Northwest region through the provision of transport, logistics or infrastructure.

Philippe Lacamp received the award from Robert Manicke, Vice Dean of the Oregon Consular Corps (L), and Sean O’Hollaren, Senior Vice President, Government & Public Affairs of Nike, Inc. (R)

Cathay Pacific Senior Vice-President Americas Philippe Lacamp, and Vice-President Cargo Americas Fred Ruggiero, attended to receive the award.

Fred said: "The award is a tribute to the support we have had from the Governor's office, Portland Airport, local businesses and the hard work of our own team here in Portland."
