Vote for Cathay Cargo in the Air Cargo News Awards
Cathay Cargo seeking to reclaim its Best Cargo Airline title
26 May 2022

Cathay Pacific has been nominated at this year’s Air Cargo News Awards in several categories.

The awards, which are organised by trade publication Air Cargo News, go out to a public vote of air-cargo customers, with the winners recognised at a gala event in the UK in September. Cathay Pacific is nominated for Cargo Airline of the Year and Best Cargo Airline – Asia, an award it last held in 2020.

This past year has been challenging for the air-cargo industry, and the effects of the pandemic have been most keenly felt across the Asian region, with quarantine restrictions, lockdowns and flight bans causing supply chain disruption. In the face of those challenges, Cathay Pacific Cargo has striven to deliver the most capacity it can and maintain its service excellence that is widely recognised.

‘This has by no means been an easy year for us,’ said GM Commercial George Edmunds. ‘Despite the disruption and the loss of our normal cargo capacity, we have done our very best to overcome the challenges to keep vital supply chains in the Asia Pacific region and across the globe open over the past year by operating as much additional capacity as possible with cargo-only passenger flights, “preighters” and a record number of charters.

‘In addition, we have kept our eye on the long-term development of the air cargo industry by investing in digitisation and innovation. In the past year, we have introduced our dedicated Vaccine Solution, Ultra Track and digital booking platform Click & Ship, which have been well received by forwarders. We also continue to take a leading role in the evolution of the future service standards for the air cargo industry as a founder member of IATA’s Cargo iQ programme. These developments reflect our ambition to become the world’s most customer-centric air cargo services provider.

‘We would love it if you could show your appreciation for the exceptional efforts of our teams worldwide, by voting for us in this year’s Air Cargo News Awards.’

Voting for the awards is open to all airline customers and closes on 17 June 2022.
