Building a more sustainable future for aviation is crucial to Cathay Cargo and the wider Cathay Group. It’s committed to the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) an alternative to conventional jet fuel which, over its life cycle, produces fewer carbon emissions.

Cathay Cargo knows this goal is important to customers too. Since the launch of the Corporate SAF Programme in 2022, numerous corporate partners have purchased SAF for use on Cathay Pacific and Cathay Cargo flights, lowering their carbon footprint from both business travel and cargo shipments. In 2025, corporate and Cathay Cargo partners helped abate more than 55,900 tonnes of carbon emissions through the programme.

But to make sustainability options more accessible to all businesses, whatever their size, Cathay Cargo taking another significant step forward with the introduction of a new SAF Self-Service Portal that is accessible anytime, anywhere – and most importantly, by anyone.

The new platform, which is available 24/7, allows stakeholders to purchase SAF at the level that aligns with their individual business goals – and without any minimum purchase requirement.

Like the existing Corporate SAF programme – which was set up to meet the needs of organisations with wider travel needs – the SAF Self-Service Portal offers fuel that is certified to international SAF standards. In addition, the portal enables customers to track purchase records and access related SAF documentation for reporting purposes.

It’s now easier than ever to buy SAF and help reduce Scope 3 carbon emissions from cargo shipments and pioneer the adoption of SAF usage and production in Asia. Cathay Cargo – when we move thoughtfully, we go further together.

How to use the Cathay Cargo SAF Self-Service Portal

  1. To access the Portal, first-time users can fill in this form, while existing users can log in here, while. First-time requests will be reviewed within seven working days. Once registered, users can create accounts for additional company representatives.
  2. Customers can then easily purchase attributes on the Portal homepage by inputting an amount of estimated greenhouse gas emissions (using this calculator) or SAF volume. Details about the SAF – such as vendor, origin and certification – will be provided before purchase.
  3. Payments can be made by credit card or invoice in a variety of currencies.
